Paladin Data Systems Announces Bedford, Indiana as Newest SMARTGov Customer

SMARTGov welcomes its first customer in the state of Indiana.

Paladin Data Systems Corporation announced Bedford, Indiana today as its newest customer for SMARTGov, Paladin’s community development software that manages the full lifecycle of any permit, inspection, license, or code enforcement action for jurisdictions. City of Bedford is the first SMARTGov client in the state of Indiana.

Paladin will implement its cloud based technology at Bedford to track all aspects of zoning and codes including permit issuance, inspections, code enforcement, and a public portal for self-service public access. In addition to permit tracking and monthly reporting, SMARTGov will allow Bedford to set reminders for annual review dates for special permits, track violations and link permits issued to GIS maps.

“We are very excited to bring SMARTGov to our first customer in Indiana, the City of Bedford. We will leverage our expertise in Black Bear conversions to migrate all of the City’s legacy PTWin data into SMARTGov for free. Additionally we will host SMARTGov via the cloud eliminating virtually all of the maintenance requirements for the City IT staff. This is a real win-win partnership for both Paladin and the City of Bedford.” said Jon Byrd, a Paladin Sales Executive.

“We anticipate being able to see a cost and time savings of at least 20% with SMARTGov software. The software is practical, maneuverable, and professional and seems to meet the needs of a modern-day Planning/Zoning Department,” Dan Kirk, City of Bedford, Indiana.

The City of Bedford is located 18 miles south of Bloomington and 70 miles from Indianapolis and Louisville. Bedford has a population of around 14,000 people and is known as the “Limestone Capital of the World”. Limestone from Bedford is used in architecture around the world including such famous buildings as the Pentagon and the Empire State Building.
