Lassen County, California – Newest SMARTGov customer
SMARTGov welcomes its second customer in the State of California
Poulsbo, WA – November 20, 2014 – Paladin Data Systems Corporation is pleased to announce that Lassen County , California, is its newest customer for SMARTGov, Paladin’s community development software that manages the full lifecycle of permits, inspections, licenses, and code enforcement actions for jurisdictions.
Paladin will implement its cloud-based technology at Lassen County to track all aspects of zoning and codes including permit issuance, inspections, and code enforcement, and all recurring licenses. The city will be transitioning from Black Bear’s PTWin legacy software to the cloud-based features of SMARTGov.

They were very selective in finding just the right vendor to help them preserve their legacy data, while at the same time adding new capabilities such as public access and GIS mapping. Since SMARTGov is hosted in the cloud, Lassen County staff can access SMARTGov from any Internet connection. Also, citizens will be able to access a new set of self-service tools online that include mapping, fee payment, and inspection requests,” explained Jon Byrd, Paladin’s SMARTGov Business Development Executive.
As noted above, Lassen County will deploy SMARTGov’s online Public Portal, which is a significant addition to Lassen’s ability to serve the public, acting as a full-featured extension of the jurisdiction’s front counter services. Using the portal, the public can research local building trends, apply for a permit, view maps, pay fees, submit digital architectural drawings, request inspections, and even review public notice postings in a 24/7, self-help environment.
Lassen County is located in the northeastern portion of the State of California. With a population of 34,895, the county covers a total area of 4,720 square miles. The county seat is the City of Susanville.
