City of Maricopa, Arizona, is the newest SMARTGov customer
City’s new software will feature Public Portal and Electronic Plan Review in addition to tracking all aspects of zoning and codes including permit issuance, inspections, code enforcement, and all recurring licenses
Paladin Data Systems Corporation is pleased to announce that City of Maricopa, Arizona, is its newest customer for SMARTGov, Paladin’s community development software solution that manages the full lifecycle of permits, inspections, licenses, and code enforcement activities for jurisdictions.
Paladin will implement its cloud-based technology at the City of Maricopa to track all aspects of zoning and codes including permit issuance, inspections, code enforcement, and all recurring licenses. The city will transition to the cloud-based features of SMARTGov, including deploying the system’s Public Portal and e-PlanSoft’s electronic plan review from the county’s existing Tyler Technologies’s Munis software.
“When the City of Maricopa started looking for a complete solution to fit our needs for permit tracking, electronic plan review, and a customer service portal, only one company offered us the solutions we were looking for. SmartGov and e-Plansoft™ will provide us with a completely integrated solution that enhances our processes internally and offers our customers innovative tools, all at a click of a button. We’re excited for the future as we get closer to our goal for a complete electronic process from start to finish,” said Robert E. Mathias, CBO, City of Maricopa.
As noted above, Maricopa will deploy SMARTGov’s online Public Portal, which is a significant addition to Maricopa’s ability to serve the public, acting as a full-featured extension of the jurisdiction’s front counter services. Using the portal, the public can research local building trends, apply for a permit, view maps, pay fees, submit digital architectural drawings, request inspections, and even review public notice postings in a 24/7, self-help environment.
The city will also take advantage of SMARTGov’s implementation of ePlanCheck® software within the SMARTGov platform. This state-of-the-art software will give the city planning department easy access to smart, collaborative electronic plan check tools for more efficient plan reviews. It will allow for digital review offering significant cost savings through reduced dependency on printing, copy distribution, and handling of paper-based construction plans.
“We are excited about this joint partnership between the City of Maricopa, ePlansoft, and SMARTGov. It is a game changing moment. Together we are combining our permit automation with electronic plan review to create a totally paperless permitting agency for Maricopa. This is a big deal for local citizens and jurisdiction staff; a real win/win solution,” said Jon Byrd, Paladin’s SMARTGov Business Development Executive.
Maricopa is one of the oldest and most historic communities in the state of Arizona. It is hidden in the middle of the Sonoran Desert, surrounded by mountain ranges that include the beautiful Sierra Estrellas, Palo Verde, Saddleback Mountains and Haley Hills. The City’s population is 43,482, and is approximately 45 square miles, with a planning area of 278 square miles.
SMARTGov is a web-based software application developed by Paladin Data Systems to support community development functions including permitting, planning, inspections, code enforcement, licenses, fees, parcels, contractors and many others. SMARTGov is configurable, flexible, and interactive. It allows community development users the ability to prioritize projects, manage workflow, communicate with other departments, and work more efficiently . While typically deployed as a cloud-based service, SMARTGov can be deployed on-premise and gives both citizens and jurisdiction staff access to project data on the web 24/7. Paladin offers a 30-day trial of SMARTGov software at no cost or obligation.
