The Senior Business Development Executive will be a strategic leader in implementing Paladin’s sales strategy, guiding product teams, and actively pursuing new business relationships by implementing a systematic and repeatable business development process.   This key role within the organization will have responsibility for: implementing Paladin’s strategic business plan and processes; actively researching and pursuing new business relationships; obtaining client requirements and relaying to product development teams through use cases and user stories; identifying areas that are negatively impacting scalability and growth with input as to how to improve; and identifying strategic relationships that Paladin may need to enter to support business growth and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement a strategic, systematic, auditable, and repeatable business development plan
  • Develop and maintain actionable plans to ensure that on-going business growth, including achievement of an assigned revenue plan, is assured and maximized
  • Maintain a regular presence and create a positive profile within developer / partner organizations to ensure that the Paladin name is recognized as a value added element of their business
  • Represent Paladin at industry associations, professional groups, and work groups where Paladin’s participation is essential to the development of new business and / or sustaining existing business
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas by generating sales and growing a book of business
  • Identify, research, establish, and nurture purposeful, professional relationships
  • Assist as needed to develop, oversee, and mentor sales teams to achieve plans and forecasts
  • Be able to assist and/or develop product specific business plans, pro formas, and market penetration models
  • Identify, develop, and close prospects in various government and commercial verticals
  • Manage and provide mentoring for long and complex sales cycle from lead generation to close of sale
  • Lead trade shows and site demonstrations
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and mentor the use of the sales pipeline in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
  • Provide customer  and market business requirements, use cases, and user stories to product development
  • Manage channel and distribution partners as assigned
  • Willing to travel ~25-50%

Key Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of SaaS sales
  • Proficiency with CRM software
  • Ability to develop new accounts including all aspects of the sales process from cold calling, to deal negotiation, to closing – and be able to demonstrate and mentor this process  to others within Paladin
  • Must have the ability to repeat a system to prospect, qualify, and capture new business opportunities
  • Considerable knowledge of marketing principles and sales techniques
  • Ability to establish relationships through the use of sound interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to discuss sophisticated software and computer architectures
  • Ability to conduct software presentations to potential clients, including senior government officials
  • Ability to manage time efficiently to maximize productivity and client satisfaction
  • Proven leadership and team building, with a track record of teams exceeding goals/requirements
  • Strong management skills and strategic selling experience
  • Ability to relay internal plans and processes through effective training and mentoring

Education & Experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in sales, marketing, business or communications
  • Recommended:  Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Plus: Technical degree and/or certifications
  • 10+ years of combined project/program/product management
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in technology-related direct sales
  • 5+ years of experience in training, mentoring, and team building

Candidate must be able to acquire a United States Government security clearance upon hire.
