Software Engineer – Java Developer

Education/Experience Requirements

This position requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline OR 2+ years of professional programming experience.

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Working knowledge of  Java programming language
  • Basic understanding of Web Servers, Web Services, and Markup Languages 
  • Basic understanding of Object Oriented Programming  and Design concepts
  • Basic understanding of Version Control and Configuration Management Tools
  • Working knowledge of SQL (ANSI, PL/SQL, T-SQL)
  • Fundamental knowledge of relational database theory
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Above average analytical skills
  • Experience working with STRUTS a plus
  • Experience working with HIBERNATE a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality and well documented code in a supervised environment.
  • Work to the level necessary to meet project deadlines and deliverable requirements.
  • With the aid of your supervisor, establish a written set of professional goals together with a plan for achieving them.
  • Continuously strive to increase both depth and breadth of professional skills
  • Record and document time on a daily basis.

Candidate must be able to acquire a United States Government security clearance upon hire.
