Proposal Coordinator/Writer

Paladin is seeking a Proposal Coordinator/Writer to join our team.  The Proposal Coordinator/Writer is responsible for managing and coordinating the tasks of developing and preparing time sensitive and accurate responses to proposal requests for Paladin’s products and services using winning language and in turn driving Paladin’s revenue.  The ideal candidate will be able to work under deadlines, be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team and have excellent written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Proposal Coordinator/ Writer role is divided into two primary responsibilities:
    • Creating, maintaining and continually improving the processes and tools used for Proposal responses
    • Producing the actual Proposal responses in a scalable, high-quality and timely manner.
  • Serve as the responsible leader facilitating responses from the proposal team for each project
  • Provide primary writing and editing support, crafting benefits-driven proposals that are accurate, detailed, persuasive and responsive to client needs Research, author and edit assigned responses to specific questions contained within the Proposals
  • Partner with Paladin sales to create accurate, persuasive and convincing response documents
  • Responsible for maintaining the FRP proposal database containing answers to questions created for prior responses
  • Maintain the proposal database scrupulously current, on message, well-written and accurate.
  • Act as liaison with SMEs, Product Management, IT, Operations and Sales to revise and improve answers in the database
  • Develop, update and create useful supporting documentation for responding to RFPs, RFIs and proposals
  • With input from Marketing and Sales, review and update proposal templates and accompanying standard presentations

Key Skills

  • Ability to research and interview necessary staff to address necessary Proposal questions and then use collected information to write responses to corresponding proposal sections
  • Possess a high level of responsibility, drive and self-motivation to meet very specific Proposal response deadlines
  • Exceptionally clear, concise writing skills and ability to position products and services in terms of client needs
  • Strong time and project management skills as well as a collaborative and cooperative approach to the position will be critical success factors
  • Experience in the software industry or with technical product proposal-writing a strong plus
  • Experience responding to government proposals (Seaport-e, GSA, etc) a strong plus
  • High proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint
  • Familiarity Proposal software a strong plus

Education and Experience

  • 4-10 years’ work experience, preferably in a proposal writing, editing, or marketing role
  • B.A. in English, Marketing or similar area
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.

QA Developer / Tester

Paladin is seeking a QA Developer to join our team. Activities may include requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, documentation, training and deployment of web software solutions.  This professional is expected to acquire proficiency with software development lifecycle practices, methods, tools, conventions, and industry web development standards.  The ideal candidate will be results oriented, eager to learn, resourceful, have a positive attitude and be a team player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts of both automated and manual testing
  • Understand functional and technical requirements of the business
  • Build sufficient test coverage to ensure code compliance against functional requirements
  • Own and lead the creation of Unit Tests in our Java web application
  • Discover and research problems and work with the team to provide acceptable solutions
  • Participate in development (coding) efforts as need
  • Contribute to the success in meeting team commitments
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle

Key Skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment
  • Efficiency in writing and executing detailed test cases
  • Load/Performance test experience
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit)
  • Automation web user interface testing tools experience (such as Selenium, RC, TestComplete, Watir, WatiN, SilkTest)
  • Experience with at least one modern Object Oriented language (Java preferred)
  • Experience with SQL and relational database concepts (Oracle)
  • Experience with client web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and/or 3+ equivalent experience in a technical QA role
